1. About OurElected
OurElected is a civic transparency platform that aggregates publicly available legislative data — including federal, state, and local legislation, voting records, and political funding information — to help citizens stay informed about their elected officials. All data we display is sourced from publicly available government databases and official records.
2. Your Account
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use OurElected only for lawful purposes. You may not use our platform to:
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download data for redistribution
- Attempt to reverse engineer or circumvent access controls
- Use automated bots or scripts to access the platform
- Post false, misleading, or harmful content in any community features
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
4. Membership and Billing
All civic information can be read without an account. OurElected offers one optional membership at $9.99 per month, billed through Stripe, for an ad-free experience and personal features such as saved bills and alerts. Membership includes a 7-day free trial — you will not be charged until the trial ends. You may cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
5. Data Accuracy
We make reasonable efforts to keep our data accurate and up to date, but we make no guarantees about the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of the information provided. Legislative data should not be used as a substitute for official government sources for legal or official purposes.
6. Intellectual Property
The OurElected platform, including its design, code, and presentation layer, is our proprietary property. The underlying legislative data is publicly available and remains in the public domain. You may not reproduce or redistribute our platform or its presentation without written permission.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
OurElected is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the past 12 months.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use of OurElected after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
